David Pinion is a retired communications engineer. In 2023 he visited Antarctica, caught the polar bug, and has since returned four times and counting...
Following the route of Shackleton's Endurance Expedition, David journeyed to the Weddell Sea where he was privileged to see the incredible wildlife on South Georgia, including the Emperor Penguins. He then travelled across the Weddell Sea to Elephant Island where Shackleton's men sheltered for 4 months.
Based on his own experiences and inspired by the heroic age of exploration, this talk is backed up with great photos, a few anecdotes, his passion for the continent, and lots of penguins!!
